Early Life and Background
Ladipo Eso, professionally known as Ladipoe or “Ladipoe the Leader of the Revival,” was born on April 29, 1992, in Lagos, Nigeria. He had his early education in Nigeria before moving to the United States, where he studied Biology and Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
During his time abroad, Ladipoe discovered his love for rap and poetry. He co-founded a music group called Lyrically Equipped, which allowed him to polish his skills and experiment with sounds.
Musical Journey and Breakthrough
Upon returning to Nigeria, Ladipoe began making waves in the underground rap scene with his sharp lyrics and storytelling. He first gained major recognition in 2014 when he was featured on Show Dem Camp’s hit single “Feel Alright”, which introduced him to a wider audience.
His big break came in 2017 when he signed with Mavin Records, becoming the first rapper to join the label. Under Mavin, he released the single “Man Already”, showcasing his lyrical depth and unique flow.
Rise to Fame
Ladipoe achieved mainstream success with the release of “Know You” (2020) featuring Simi, a soulful collaboration that topped Nigerian music charts. He followed it up with “Feeling” (2021) featuring Buju (BNXN), which became an anthem across Africa, dominating streaming platforms and radio playlists.
These hits cemented his place as one of Nigeria’s most influential rappers blending Afro-fusion, rap, and soulful melodies.
