Daniel Benson, professionally known as BNXN (pronounced Benson), and formerly called Buju, is a Nigerian Afro-fusion singer and songwriter born on May 14, 1997, in Lagos State, Nigeria. He hails from Akwa Ibom State but grew up in Lagos, where he developed a strong passion for music.
BNXN’s early exposure to diverse genres such as Afrobeat, reggae, and R&B shaped his unique sound. He attended Babcock University, where he studied Theatre Arts.
Early Career and Breakthrough
BNXN began his music career under the stage name Buju, a name inspired by Jamaican dancehall culture. He gained attention in 2019 after releasing “Energy” and “Commander”, which showcased his distinct style and lyrical depth.
