Early Life and Background
Emeka Akumefule, popularly known by his stage name Blaqbonez, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter born on January 29, 1996, in Imo State, Nigeria. He grew up in a Yoruba and Igbo household, which exposed him to diverse cultures and sounds.
Raised in Lagos, Blaqbonez developed a passion for rap music at a young age after discovering hip-hop artists like Eminem and Jay-Z. Despite coming from a conservative background, he pursued his passion for music, teaching himself how to rap and perform.
Early Career and Breakthrough
Blaqbonez first gained attention in 2012 after participating in rap battles and freestyle competitions. His breakthrough came when he won the Terry Tha Rapman Zombie Competition, which earned him recognition in the Nigerian rap scene.
