Early Life and Background

Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, popularly known as Black Sherif or Kwaku the Traveller, is a Ghanaian singer, rapper, and songwriter born on January 9, 2002, in Konongo, Ashanti Region, Ghana.

Black Sherif grew up in Konongo before moving to Accra, where he pursued his education and musical dreams. He attended Kumasi Academy and later studied Marketing at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) before fully committing to music.

From a young age, Sherif was passionate about music and fashion. His sound blends Afrobeat, drill, trap, and reggae, creating a unique style that resonates with youth across Africa and beyond.

Early Career and Breakthrough

Black Sherif began his professional music journey in 2019 with the release of “Cry for Me.” However, he gained attention in 2020 with his single “Money,” which became popular among Ghanaian youth for its emotional depth and relatability.
