Early Life and Background

Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour N’abania or simply Flavour, was born on November 23, 1983, in Enugu State, Nigeria. Originally from Umuahia, Abia State, Flavour grew up in a large family and developed an interest in music at an early age.

At just 13 years old, he joined his local church choir as a drummer before later learning to play keyboards and guitar. His talent caught the attention of music directors, which eventually led to a scholarship to study music and hone his instrumental skills.

Musical Journey and Breakthrough

Flavour began his professional career in 2005 with the release of his debut album “N’abania”, which gained popularity in Eastern Nigeria. However, it was his second album, “Uplifted” (2010), that brought him mainstream success, thanks to hit singles like Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix) and Adamma.

By blending traditional Igbo highlife music with Afrobeats, R&B, and contemporary pop, Flavour created a unique sound that resonated across Africa and beyond.
