Early Life and Background
Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer born on May 19, 1997, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He grew up in a family with deep musical roots—his grandfather played percussion for the legendary highlife singer Celestine Ukwu, which influenced Omah Lay’s passion for music.
Raised in the Marine Base area of Port Harcourt, Omah Lay attended Comprehensive High School before studying Mass Communication at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT). From an early age, he was drawn to songwriting and beat-making, initially starting as a producer before stepping into the spotlight as an artist.
Journey into Music
Omah Lay began his music career as a record producer, creating beats and writing songs for underground acts in Port Harcourt. However, his love for singing and storytelling soon pushed him to pursue a solo career.
