Biography of Davido


Early Life and Background

David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, into the influential Adeleke family of Osun State, Nigeria. His father, Adedeji Adeleke, is a successful businessman and philanthropist, while his late mother, Veronica Adeleke, was a university lecturer.

Raised partly in Lagos, Nigeria, Davido attended the British International School before moving back to the United States to study Business Administration at Oakwood University. However, his passion for music drove him to leave school early and pursue a career in the industry. Later, he completed a degree in Music at Babcock University, a program specially established for him.

Rise to Stardom

Davido’s musical journey began in 2011 with his debut single Back When featuring Naeto C. His breakthrough, however, came with the release of Dami Duro, a song that became an anthem across Nigeria and earned him national recognition.

In 2012, he released his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (OBO), which included hit singles like Ekuro, All of You, and Feel Alright. His energetic style and catchy melodies quickly positioned him as one of Nigeria’s most promising young artists.
